  • 6 manliest food items

There’s something about certain foods that just makes them ooze manliness, but not in a gross way. Here are the 6 manliest food items #NutsandBolts4Breakfast After discussing some of the many reasons real men don’t eat salads, we got to thinking about what type of foods would definitively qualify as “manly.” The type of foods that practically beg to be accompanied by a beer, a Rugby match, or something equally masculine (motor oil, maybe?) 6) T-Bone Steak It’s thick, it’s juicy, this is the manliest of all the steak 5) Biltong Biltong is tough as nails and can survive under almost any conditions. It’s pretty much the Chuck Norris of all dried meats 4) A Good Old-Fashioned Cheeseburger Guy foods might not get any simpler than a good old-fashioned burger. A giant patty of ground beef, a slice of cheese, and hopefully a healthy portion of bacon are all you need for a perfectly self-contained meal. 3) Nachos Cheese by itself is absolutely wonderful, but not particularly manly. The same could be said for Dorito chips. However, when you add the two together and top them off with some chilies it all of a sudden transforms into a guy-stravaganza of awesomeness. 2) BBQ Ribs It’s meat served on a slab and smothered in barbecue sauce. What’s not to like? It doesn’t get much manlier than tearing apart a rack of ribs with your bare hands. 1) Anything HOT and SPICY The most manly thing to meat is anything so hot it makes you miserable, when you are around other man you need to prove you can finish a serving or you will appear appear inferior and weak. If you check any wall of fame at a restaurant featuring a hot food challenge, you’ll notice there aren’t many women willing to suffer through this type of pain for a chance at immortality. • Road Tripping from Coast to Coast

Road Tripping from Coast to Coast is something everyone should experience at least once in their life time. We look at the Wild Wander (Cape Town to Durban, 1700km) #Roadtripping Be sure to come past Randburg Midas for all of your camping, fishing and outdoor lifestyle needs for your trip! Most South African itineraries include a drive along the east coast, following the Indian Ocean to the Garden Route. This famous 300km stretch of beaches, lagoons and indigenous forests is loved by outdoor enthusiasts, with activities from surfing to ziplining. Vacationing Suffers flock to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay for seaside holidays, but laid-back Wilderness and Buffalo Bay have more rugged rural charm. A section of the route that demands more effort, but is eye-opening and rewarding, is the Wild Coast. Formerly the Transkei homeland, the aptly named area’s hills roll to rugged cliffs and empty beaches. Leave the freeway and venture into the country’s most quintessentially African spot, watching out for potholes and cattle between the green hills dotted with Xhosa rondavels (round huts with a thatched, conical roof). A few backpacker lodges in this area exemplify the local appeal of escaping South Africa’s Westernised aspects and experiencing Xhosa culture. Nelson Mandela was born here in the village of Mveso, and there are a few sights dedicated to the great man. The Nelson Mandela Museum is in the regional capital, Mthatha, and there are monuments and heritage centers to discover in the surrounding villages. • Road trip tip 6: Bring a CD

If you need any car spares or any other road tripping odds and ends, speak to Randburg Midas and we will have you enjoying your road trip in no time #Roadtripping Yes, a real live CD. With 12 songs or less that you’d be semi-comfortable hearing for two weeks straight. Stick it in the car’s CD changer old-school style, and run through it every day without skipping tracks. It won’t seem like a big deal. But months later, when one of those special road trip songs comes on at the grocery store or in a bar, you’ll find yourself transported back to your trip in a way only a song could transport you.
