  • Hennessey Venom F5 PUSHES 466KPH

That’s right the Hennessey Venom F5 PUSHES 466KPH which probably makes it the fastest Super-car in the world! #MidasPower You might not dive a Hennessey Venom F5, but I am sure you love your car just as much! Ok, maybe not just as much. However, you need to keep your current car running smoothly. So for any of your vehicle requirements, Randburg Midas is your one stop spare shop! Hennessey is planning a whole new set of upgrades for the F5, including all-carbon-fiber bodywork to help keep the curb weight under 2,866 pounds to help enhance its power-to-weight ratio. By comparison, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport only returns 630 horsepower per tonne, whereas it appears Hennessey is shooting for 1000 horsepower per tonne. Though the Venom F5 will share a Lotus platform with the Venom GT, they will have different looks. The F5 looks more like the lovechild of the Nissan GT-R and Ferrari LaFerrari Ferrari LaFerrari. Additionally, Hennessey Hennessey will add aerodynamic components to drop the F5’s coefficient of drag to 0.40 — the Venom GT’s coefficient of drag checks in at 0.44. Sure, it’s a small change, but enough to help the F5 maintain its speed in a down-and-back run at the Kennedy Space Center. Once Hennessey has successfully evolved the Venom GT into the F5, the latter should be able to take the reigns from its cousin as the true kingpin of the supercar world, despite what the Guinness Book of World Records believes. Achieving a top speed of 290 mph is quite literally the fastest way to do that. The company plans to produce 30 examples of the Venom F5, which is just enough to satisfy Guinness’ requirement for the record. Each example will come with a price of somewhere north of the R18 Million sticker of the Venom GT. Customers lucky enough to secure one of these 30 models should expect to receive their new babies sometime in 2016. • Scirocco-Top speed

VW have recently announced their 2016 Scirocco that has a Top speed of 246 km/h what do you think of it? #MidasPower Randburg Midas stock the full range of VW spare parts. Some info on the VW Scirocco GTS Some cars live for ever because they are constantly reinvented. The Scirocco, a pure-bred European sports car, is one of these cars that is forever young. Presented at the 1974 Geneva Motor Show, 41 years ago, it became an icon of compact German coupés. The car caught the spirit of the age: over a million units of the Scirocco have been produced since then. Last summer a comprehensively refined generation of the sports car was launched, featuring, among other things, a completely new range of engines. Building on this, Volkswagen unveils the new Scirocco GTS – a sports car with 162 kW / 220 PS – in a world premiere at Auto Shanghai. Its engine is one of the most popular in the Scirocco range because it is sharing its design genes with the engine of the Golf GTI. A turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine that is recognised as being one of the most agile four-cylinder engines in the world. It catapults the Scirocco GTS – either with a manual gearbox or with the 6-speed DSG – to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. Top speed: 246 km/h (DSG: 244 km/h). The average fuel consumption shows just how efficient the engine of the Scirocco is: just 6.1 l/100 km with a manual gearbox and similarly economical at 6.4 l/100 km with a DSG gearbox. • How to tow a car

In this short post we will show you exactly how to tow a car. This is a great skill to have because you never know when you are going to need it. I always say rather safe than sorry #MidasPower Make sure you always have everything you will need to be towed or if you need to tow someone. At Randburg Midas we stock everything you will need and much more! If you are stuck and can’t get your car going, you may have to tow it to a mechanic’s shop or a safe place to do repairs yourself. Here are some steps to help you tow cars safely. Find someone with a vehicle powerful enough to tow yours. A sedan or small car probably shouldn’t be used to tow a Bakkie or SUV. Buy a suitable tow strap. In a pinch, a chain can be used to tow a vehicle a short distance, but this can be dangerous, as chains do not stretch, and links can break during towing. A nylon or polyester strap with manufactured end loops is better for safely towing. Find a suitable place to attach your tow strap. A bumper hitch with a trailer ball will work for the tow vehicle, but hooking to the car to be towed can be tricky, since suspension components are not designed for pulling pressure, and other metal components can cut or pinch your strap. Ideally, a rounded frame member or front bumper support can be used for your attachment, but these vary considerably between vehicles. Check the brakes, steering, and warning lamps to make sure they are functioning sufficiently for your tow. If the vehicle is equipped with power brakes and steering, their use is limited if your engine will not run while being towed. In this case, renting a dolly is a better option. Make an inspection of your towing connections and discuss signalling plans with your tow driver. Plan an exact route, and try to choose one that avoids congested traffic areas or high speed roads. Climb in behind the wheel of the vehicle being towed, disengage the parking brake, and put the vehicle in neutral. Hold the foot brake lightly to prevent the vehicle from rolling until the slack is taken up from the towing vehicle. Have a spotter flag the tow vehicle until the tow line is taut, then release the brake in the vehicle being towed, and prepare to…
